SUMMER FUN

We pulled the pool out of the attic for a little fun. We had more fun sitting and watching Carter. I was trying to warm him up to the water because we have been going to the pool since it got warm.
Carter's first drum set. He has a little stool that he sats on and just pounds away! I'm sure the neighbors just love me.

We save all of our change for Carter. He will sit until all of the coins are in his piggy bank.

Getting Ready For Summer

So we finally did it...Carter went to the nursery at church. I thought it was going to be major drama because he doesn't like being anywhere without us. Chris and I got him signed in and met his teacher. Then the strangest think happened Carter went right to the teacher and wanted on the floor to play with the baby (a little girl). He never even looked back at us. In a way it kind of hurt your feelings because he is growing up way to fast. Yesterday we brought him back to the nursery and he was so excited to go play with all of the babies (Carter calls anyone who is not an adult a baby). Lately we have been working on saying Sea World. Chris said that whenever Carter can say it we will go there. He doesn't quit have it down yet but he knows that whales are here.
This weekend we had a surprise visit from our Papa and Grandma from Austin. We were all glad to get to see them and for them to see Carter. They got him a new Texas football and everytime he goes to play with it he says Papa. Carter also got to play with his cousins and had a great time. He has been saying Nate all weekend. So I think he had a bunch of fun with them.

Picnic at the park- We stopped to see all of the ducks from the dock with our cousins Kinzlee, Wyatt, Kate and Jack.
Since it has gotten warm we had to go and get a turtle sandbox. Carter loves it and spends many hours a day in it.
Carter is into everything. I left him alone outside for only a second and came back to find him digging in all of my flowerpots. He had such a great time.

16 Month Check-up

Carter had his 16 month checkup today and it confirmed what I already knew...that he is perfect! He weighs 25 lbs. and is 32 inches tall. His doctor said that his weight is now in the 50th percentile (this is the lowest he has ever been) and his height is off the chart. So I guess that means that he is perfect. Today was the first time Carter didn't like his doctor that much. As she was checking him out he kept pointing to the door, as if to tell her to leave. She was very impressed by his vocabulary. Dr. M told me that at his age he should only know about 5 words. Carter is so beyond that. He is already saying big words like golf cart, snow cone, Jesus and tractor.

Every time Carter talks it just amazes me. Last week Philip asked Carter who came to see him that afternoon. Carter looked right up at Philip and without hesitation said God. Then he turned around and walked off like doesn't God come see everyone!

Finally an update

Carter just turned 16 months old. He is getting so big. He is in such a cute phase right now. He is able to communicate with us and it is so much fun. Right now his favorite words are Jesus and God. After he says them he wants you to repeat him. He is a little sponge of knowledge! He learns things very fast. He relates all tractors to Papa (Grandpa Lyons) and all trucks and motorcycles to DennyPa. Carter has all his grandparents wrapped around his little finger. He loves riding around in Grandma's golfcart. Everytime he sees her he wants the golfcart.

Carter and Grandpa talking to Lucky.
Carter at Daddy's new office. He loved spinning around in the trash lid.

Daddy and Carter in Ruidoso, New Mexico. We went there over spring break and had a nice relaxing time.

Carter decided to take a walk instead of hunting Easter eggs.

Since I'm so good at blogging...I had to switch blog sites the other one wouldn't let me upload pictures at all. This one is a lot easier for me to use. Keep checking back I really plan on keeping this easiere blog updated.

New Wheels

Carter fell instantly in love with his new wheels. When he first saw it his big blue eyes lite up! He has been cruising ever since... until the steering wheel hit him in the head.

Happy Birthday Carter

Here is the Birthday Boy with his birthday cupcake. It took him a little while to realize that he could get messy and that the entire cupcake was all his.

Birthday Boy

We just celebrated Carter's 1st Birthday!!! What a fast year. We didn't get to have a party because he got sick for the first time. But we did take him to Toys R Us and he wanted this leggo dumptruck. He absolutely loves it.
