San Diego, CA

We just got back from our vacation to San Diego. I decided I should be on the beach permanently. We had such a great time. It was Cart's first plane ride. He was very nervous at first. We actually told him we were getting on a bus because as we were loading the plane he started freaking out! But as soon as he realized we were flying he was fine. We were there for 5 days at our awesome hotel on Mission Bay. We went to the San Diego Zoo which is overwhelming. We walked through a retired battle ship. We all enjoyed the ship. Carter wanted his picture taken in every doorway! Our plans were to go to Lego Land but through some persuasion by Carter we went to DISNEY LAND!!! It was so magical to see it through Carter's eyes. He got to meet Pluto and Mickey. After he meet Mickey he was done and wanted to go back to the pool. The weather was much cooler than we expected Chris and Carter loved the cooler weather, I froze.

4th of July

The 3rd of July was a wet one. It rained all day! I loved the rain but it meant that we missed the parade, fair on the square and the fireworks were canceled. We got to sit inside of Chris's office and watch the parade but it was not as interesting. Carter and his cousins lost interest and played jail. We left the square when the rain let up but by the time we walked to the car we were drenched!

Later that night we went to my Aunt Kim's to cookout and pop fireworks. I have never bought fireworks until this year. Carter and his Daddy spent $20 and that was enough for him. Carter was terrified of the black jacks but loved the sparklers.

Six Flags

Carter and I took a couple of days off and went to 6 Flags with all the cousins. We had a great time. We stayed walking distance from the gate. We walked over in the morning went back mid-day for a nap and swimming and back again in the evening. Carter loved the batman airplanes (which he is riding with Nicole) but HATED anything that got him wet. I honestly don't blame him.

We also went to the Rain Forest Cafe. It terrified little Carter. He sat there and his lip quivered.

I just got Carter's 3yr pictures taked and they turned out GREAT!!! There are about 200 or so and now I can't decide which is my favorite. These are just a handful of the pics that were taked.

Lots to update about...First we sold our house and now are living with Penny (my sister) until our house is finished being built. It is like camping we have everything we need to get by. The only thing I'm missing is all of my clothes! I had to choose some and pack the rest. Guess that means SHOPPING. Hopefully we will be able to move in the new house the first of May. Until then we will be cozy @ Penny's.

New House

It has been a work in progress but our new home is looking like a house. It should be ready in mid-April. I thought I would be sad to leave the home Carter had all of his first but I'm ready to clean out and move up the street. The walls are sheet rocked and taped, the fireplace is bricked and there should be a front door in a couple of days. It is definitely looking like a real house instead of a drawing. Carter is excited about having a fort in his closet (we had the stair well turned into his closet). I'm excited that he is excited about sleeping in his own room. With all the changes with the garage a nice size additional bonus room appeared. Chris is excited about having a cave without any windows. It is so dark with the sheet rock up you need a flashlight just to walk around. Hopefully he can get phone service in there so I can find him.

Christmas Morning

Christmas @ Lolly's

We had a great Christmas! Carter was so excited about Santa this year. Although he didn't get what he really wanted and asked for he still had a great day! The think that Carter asked Santa for was a baby sister. I don't know where he came up with the idea but he is dead set on being a big brother. After I even explained to him that it was too cold for a baby to ride in a sleigh he looked up at me with tears filling his eyes and said, "but I was really good this year." It just broke my heart. Santa wrote Carter a letter telling him that he has talked to God and that He is working on it. The letter has pacified him for now. Besides a baby sister Carter asked for a big boy bike. That Santa could do!!!

Christmas Party

Today was Carter's Christmas party @ preschool. He had a book exchange and Ms. Darlene had the entire class sing carols to all us mommies. They did such a great job!

Carter sat front row for the book exchange because he was determined to get the book he brought. Jonas ended up with his book but Carter got one that made noise so he was super happy with that.

Enjoying a cupcake & juice (actually he only ate the icing).

Happy Fall

We are still in the progress of building our new home. It has been a slower process than normal. But we do finally have a framed garage. Chris is so excited about the garage, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to camp in it. Luckily they haven't used all the sand for the slab so it has become our new sandbox. Carter & I have been walking up and digging. I hope he will remember it because he loves the "lot".

Besides building a new house we also are moving our salon to a new location. As if we didn't have enough to do we found a new project. Our opening date for the new salon is in 2 weeks. It has taken a lot of extra time but it will be worth it in the end. We are increasing our staff from 6 to 12 or 13. We will also be more of a day spa instead of a salon. I'm really excited. I have always wanted more than just a place to get a haircut. Best of all our salon will be an Aveda Concept salon which is really cool if you know anything about salons.
Carter is still loving Ms. Darlene's class. He learned his ABC's & days of the week last week. This week he will be going on his first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. He is so excited to bring home a pumpkin.
...until next time.

First Day of Mother's Day Out

Carter just started Mother's Day Out and loves it! He has learned so much with his class. He was so excited to go the first day. We were walking him down the hall the first day and he stopped looked up at me and told me that he was a big boy and that he could do it all by himself and off he went. I am so glad he loves going it is a whole lot easier to leave him when I know he is having fun.

In his 3 weeks @ MDO he has learned his ABC's, he recognizes A, B, C, 1 & 2. He even surprised me while we were driving down the road with the story of Adam & Eve.

Carter is still a very detailed orientated little guy. He remembers every detail. His teacher told me what a bright little boy he is (which I already knew). He is a complete joy to be around! I treasure every minute with him!
